Should i get a q6700 or q8400 quad? im not going to overclock yet?

ok i want to get a quad core and not sure which to get. q8400 has newer 45nm that runs cooler, higher fsb, but less cache. i will not overclock for a while and am wondering which is better for gaming and such without overclocking. is L2 cache that important as well?(8mb vs 4mb between the 2). also whats the dif. between 65nm and 45nm other than cooling? also which is better for overclocking, when i overclock in the future?
