Am I being verbally Abused?

This is unquestionally abusive. He has used your feelings for him to boost his own ego without concern for you. If he truly loved you (uming he is capable as such) then he would accept, even adore you for who you are. Barring the occasional argument or mistake most succesful and equitabe relationships don't work in the way you have described. It is unfortunate that you 'caught feelings' for this man who feels the need to put you down in order to give himself a boost.
