I stumbled upon this by accident looking for fractionated atmospheric properties, your thoughts?

The paper is focussed on modelling water vapor over different length scales. The authors want to test the hypothesis that they can use satellite data with a 45 km length scale to predict atmospheic water vapor characteristics on cloud scale (approx 1 km). The authors are measuring water vapor characteristics (vapor, water drop size distribution in clouds, ice) on the fine scale and and trying to find relationships between their measurements and the coarser scale satellite data. The wording hints that they are attempting to model the relationship with fractals.
