Why do Conservatives criticize France and Sweden?

Sweden is irreligious, yet it's the probably the best democracy. It has one of the lowest crime rates and the highest per capitas in the world. It hasn't been to war since the 18th century. Are war-mongering conservatives envious of Sweden's neutrality and prosperity?
